What are the advantages of electronic music over acoustic and vice versa?
Being a composer, I've often found that acoustic music is quite limited in terms of sound variety, but is far more expressive and able to invoke all kind of feelings. On the other hand I like the way overtones are emphasized in electronic music and the depth or spaciousness the sound can have. What is your opinion? Thanks!
I think it depends on the song as to which suits it best. Take Eric Clapton's 'Layla' for example. The electric version was great, but the acoustic version was fantastic in my opinion! There are other songs which sound better electric, so I think it depends on the song, as well as personal taste. I think electric can be expressive and evoke emotions as well - the powerful sounds can evoke powerful emotions...
