Active EMG Pickups?

I've heard from about everywhere that an EMG 81 is about the best bridge pickup you can get. I've heard that EMG 81s, 85s, and 60s are all really good for the neck pickup. My guitar has 2 EMG 81s and I was wondering if I should buy an 85 or a 60 for my neck pickup. My next guitar is going to be a custom 7-string ESP, so after this guitar the only EMG I can get is the 707. But what's the best neck pickup for a 6-string?

I guess the main thing you need to consider is what type of sound are you looking to get out of your guitar. Each pickup will apply different characteristics to sound it produces based on the location of the pickup, strength of the windings, type of magnets used and so on. Since most of my knowledge revolves around amplifiers and other equipment, all I can recommend is to take a trip to a reputable guitar shop and ask someone there about the different pickups. You don't have to talk to someone behind the desk necessarily, you can ask someone who offers guitar lessons as well. In fact, a guitar instructor may offer you better advice base on their own experiences.
