Question about recording an acoustic guitar?
I'm recording an album for my senior project. I'm considering buying a condenser microphone (samson c01u) to record at home because recording at school isn't working out. I was going to get the mic, a shock mount, a stand, and I was wondering if i should get a pop filter. Is it only for vocals? or will it improve the sound quality of my guitar?
Yes indeedee. A condenser mic will improve the quality of an acoustic resording.
If recording vocals you will need a pop filter as well but not for the gutar.
pop filters are there to reduce or eliminae the pop sound when close to the mic. sing peter piper picked a pack of pickled peppers into a mic close up and see what I mean. Guitars don't do that so sll good.
