Can you put "normal" pot lights on a dimmer switch? Do you need special bulbs?
We have these pot lights in our living room and they are so bright. We want to put them on a dimmer switch. Is this possible? If so how can we do it? And would we have to replace the current bulbs with different bulbs?
You can put a dimmer switch on the light without a problem as long as you are using good old incandescent bulbs. Most of the dimmers you find at your average home center are only rated for 600 watts. Make sure your total wattage of the bulbs controlled by this dimmer doesn't exceed this or you will have problems.
