Maple bats always breaking mlb?
on Baseball Tonight they just said that MLB is going to start examining or testing broken bats.....(and then probably file a report with no solution).
Just looking for opinions, like ban maple bats and only use ash, or something like that.....just start a discussion
i dont really care if players use maple or ash or hickory if they really want to, but its starting to be a saftey issue
Maple has less interior cohesion than the other woods mentioned. What that does is render the bat less stable and more likely to shatter. If you see an ash bat break it usually splits into a couple of pieces. Maple on the other hand shatters into several pieces often going in several directions. Much more dangerous.
