Strat Replacement
blues/rock- better replacement pickup for the neck position to begin? Rio Grande?
I have a road from two single coils in neck and a middle position. the bridge has a humbucker and they are all in the factory. I really want to replace them all, but its such a difficult decision. I knew the area and Kinman 61s, but I went to a music store in San Antonio yesterday and they presented me with Rio Grande and Lollar pickups. what you think?
I think your brother mad, seriously. I have the same guitar as you do and the pickups in it are great! Why would you modify them they are hot! I think you should make a man of serious homework and test a few different guitars with single coils. I tried several of them and they simply can not relate to what alnico 3 may occur. Maybe you should check out the Fender website and watch the video with the latest series of Highway 1 before making this decision and then decide. The guitar has great features deserve attention. If you still clinging to change the pickups, my only advice is to try to go with the Fender Samarium Cobolt (SCN) pickups in series that are silent and are on their strats USA Deluxe series. Also try vintage Fender alnico muffler shop or measure microphones they offer. They get expensive, but they worthwhile.
