How can I build a les paul bass?

Trying to build a replica of Les Paul bass. Anyone know a place where I can find a good replica body, neck, etc.? Tried ebay, but the results have been sporadic at best. Also, would I be able to break into the custody of Les Paul pick up, like on the guitar? I try to think like the guitar as possible (my friend is the Les Paul guitar). Thank you in advance.

If you look at ebay to look for Eden necks. They are pretty cheap, you may have to smooth some frets, but it's a good deal if you do not mind doing the work.
