Compression Sustainer
Looking good sustain pedal for guitar !!!!?
Hi I am looking for a good sustain pedal. One with a huge amount of sustain (notes continued for about 1 1 / 2 min). I'm not familiar with guitar effects! I was looking at the Provider Boss CS-3 Compression ', but I do not know if I would be happy with it! I just need a pedal that allows me to slide between notes without leaving the tone fade out. Any help would be great! Thank you!
Let me make one thing clear: the compressors do not increase your support. Call for a compressor "Pimp" is misleading at best. A compressor reduces the volume of a signal above a certain amplitude (volume), evening the overall volume. This is useful to highlight "all the little things" in your game (like picking up scratches and stuff like that), but it absolutely crushes your momentum. This could have the effect of increasing support because the volume of the entire length of the note is more uniform, but that string does not vibrate as long as it is not artificially "create" a note longer. Guys like Jeff Beck, Carlos Santana do exactly what the compressor does just by working the volume knob on their guitar. If you really want infinite support, have a real sustainer (As Fernendes) or an E-Bow. You can also get a good tube amp and Crank It Up so it sounds (it's the most awesome to go). There are also pedals like the EHX gel that takes a snapshot of a sound and creates a single cycle loop (much like how some work samplers). These do not sound like a guitar ringing forever if, as the sound is static ... it sounds a bit like an organ. I think the best way to go would be a good tube amp. Crank that thing and let it sing. Lighten your attack pick up a little so that the attack of the note is not so strong. Use the vibrato to keep the note going. If you are looking a note / chord to last 30 seconds or more, look in the Caretaker Fernendes (which, unfortunately, must take the place of your neck pickup). You should also try freezing and E-Bow, they both offer absolutely unique sound that can be used to create interesting textures.
