MXR EVH flanger.........?

I am really interested in buying the mxr evh flanger, but it got alot of terrible reviews. Can anybody give me their oppinion about it? Thanks!

This is why you should try it yourself, first !

MXR does make some of the better pedals out there,
but different people are looking for different sounds,

Plus, it will sound different with YOUR guitar,
YOUR amp,
YOUR style of play.

If you have other pedals, where you place it "in the chain" of pedals,
makes a BIG difference, too.
Most players, place "time based" pedals,
(delays, phasers, flangers etc)
later in the chain,
but it's about what you like.
What works for one player, doesn't work at all, for the next.
There is no magic wand in music, the sound comes from your hands, not your toys.

Billy Gibbons is one of the best examples of this,
I've seen play many different guitars, many different amps,
and he always sounds like Billy Gibbons. (ZZ Top)
