which is harder on bass, finger or choose?
I play in a hardcore band, and of course you need a great noise from music to play this style. We are aware that profiency and accuracy are equally vital to a successful band, we're just trying make sure to get the right sound we want. Again, my question is what seems to be stronger on a bass guitar: finger or pick?
The force is determined by how your amp is loud. But I get what you say, you want the more perceived loudness. It depends on your configuration and how your signal is processed (compression, EQ, etc..). Play with your fingers will give much more punchiness a game with a pick, increasing the perceived loudness. But as I said, you can get the same thing with a choice if the signal is treated right. In the end however, it should be determined by what the bassist is used to play with, and what he / she plays with the best.
