Can I take an acoustic pickup out of one guitar and install it in another safely?
I have a martin thinline gold pickup in an old Yamaha acoustic; I want to take it out and install it in my Martin. Can I do this without damaging the pickup?
This link shows you exactly how to install the pickup. You will need a few simple tools , but it's not too tough. I've installed several piezo pickup systems but not one exactly like this. The main thing is to take your time and be careful. If you don't think you can handle it then by all means take it to a good guitar tech and have them do it. Good luck to ya!

I almost forgot too add that you will have to get a new bridge saddle for the yamaha because the one in there now will probably be too low after removing the pickup. There is always the possibility of just switching saddles between the 2 guitars if they match up alright.
