FR tremolo on this guitar? what you think?
i have this cheapy guitar made by magnum and i would like to put double locking FR tremolo on it.
heres a picture of the guitar.

but mine is just black. i was wondering if it was a good idea or not and what size block should i get for it. the guitar is 40mm thick. thnx 
I would worry about the guitar being thick enough. You don't see a lot of FR's on Les Paul style guitars. Remember, not only will a big hole have to go in the front, a bigger hole has to go in the back to hold the spring assembly. If the bridge pickup hole was too deep, it would create a huge gap under the pick up. Take a look at any guitar with that set up, and check out the back, it's like a Strat, no matter who makes the guitar.
It also seems curious to make such an expensive mod to such a cheap guitar. If you can do your own routing and repair work, it might be worth it. But you might be able to find a used guitar with the FR for not a whole lot more than just the new FR! I would consider it a potentially tricky job, and I did repair work for Fender for 15 years. You never know what kind of problems might come up. It will be a learning experience, one way or the other. I wish you luck!
By the way, it wouldn't hurt to contact FR at their website, and ask if it would work. Could save you some money and a lot of head ache later...
